Supporting the Fargo-Moorhead Skydiving Community
Every year on May 1st, Funds are donated by Megean Solberg on behalf of the foundation, toward the promotion of recreational skydiving in West Fargo and the surrounding area. These funds are allocated by Don’s daughter Megean Solberg and other members of the Skydive Fargo board of directors depending on the needs of the foundation. Once those needs are satisfied, all remaining funds go toward education and instructor certification.
The Donald J. Solberg North Dakota Legacy Skydiving Foundation was created to promote the favorite sport of Don Solberg: devoted husband, loving father, renowned mentor, and founder of Skydive Fargo.
Don loved nothing more than sharing his passion with others – especially those who had never experienced the true freedom of skydiving before. That is why we give away an all-expenses-paid skydive to a new person each year. The board announces the winning applicant each year on May 15th. They then take their complimentary plunge in June, the month of Don’s birthday.
